Week #6
YouTube.
Since starting up with Learning 2.0 I have come the appreciate YouTube as an educational tool.
After today, Week#6 library lilly, I was confronted by my own short sighted bias brought on by not looking past the clips that I saw friends posting to me. I thought they were good fun, though mostly shallow, humor. No more. Today I discovered a clip showing Piet Mondrians paintings evolving out of one another as only video can, accompanied by a favorite piece of music composed by Phillip Glass. A simple joy, conveyed by complex technology. What a beautiful way to introduce Mondrian to anyone.
Now, will I be able to embed it here, so if, someone looks at my blog, they can share the beauty too.

Week #5
Wiki working.
This will be useful when do collaborative work with a more senior librarian that I do research for. They will be able to see what I doing via the Wiki at anytime, even when our rostered days off do not coordinate.
It also seems to mean that keeping track of my research will be simpler and, once again, more easily viewed by collaborators. Paper and folders should be minimized. I will be able to view my work anywhere, won't have carry around folders.
All of the above could be applied to the creation of activities in the Children's department that require the work of two or more librarians and lots of organising.

Week #4
RSS.
Now I have my own reader. Ah! good.
Now I can answer yes every time someone asks if I have read their lastest blog or web post. It makes it quick and simple to see what action has been taking place all in the one place.
It has expanded my reach significantly in the area of current news of the things that I am interested in. It is likely that I would not have ever found these resources or have been able to find the time to keep up with them had i not finally discovered the practicalities of how to get a read by using Learning 2.0. I have known about them for about six months, thought them a great idea, now I have action. I look at my reader often.

Week #2 Library Lilly 2
Now I have,
I have registered for NSWpubliclibrarieslearning2.
Opened a Gmail account.
Created a new blog for recording my library adventures in technology.
Thanks supervisor for giving my technology search purpose.
How will my garden of library lillies grow?
Will it be lush, watered by comments?
Will Billy and I catch a technology feather?
Will it be golden, like the picture shows?
Already I have discovered a whole bunch of new stuff about blogging that I didn't look for before. Freedom grows = the capacity to say what I mean.
A new lilly is plucked.
It didn't have thorns, it was easy to do
now out with my camera for week #3.
